"What's Your Name (The Alzheimer's Song)
co-written by Jennifer Riddle
This is one of those songs from life's
experience. My cousin Kim Nash from Bay Minette,
Alabama went to see Mama Lynn with me and I was
special. She always had me do-do cookies made
for me (no bake chocolate, peanut butter and
oats) sorta made like fudge. Anyway rinky dink
came up to see me and peed on my leg, tire swing
was hanging on the old oak tree with warn spots
on the branch that had given so many kids
pleasure in the summer days. Went to the door
and she had a puzzled look on her face and ask
me "What's Your Name Son"? You look special like
I should know you can I help you? I just told
her I was sent to check on her and see how she
was doing. She said she was fine and to come in.
When I went in for some reason I knew it was the
last time I would see this old house so I really
got a good look and a good long walk down memory
lane. I saw a picture of me and grand daddy
Lindsey and ask her who it was and she said it
was her grandson Jeff. But it was me. Anyway I
cried from Grand Bay, Alabama back to Kim's
house and I just couldn't go see her again. And
like I told my daddy....she don't live there
anymore.
After All
co-written by Eric Minique
Eric is a teacher from West Virginia. A great
guy we just had a good co-writing session and
came up with a song about sticking together
through thick and thin.
Fat Boy
I have had a ton of fun (no pun intended) off
this song. Beauty is only skin deep but fat is
all the way down past your crack (sorry the only
thing that would rhyme). Anyway fat boys are
much better huggers and are noted for being
caring people. Heck if they do get a woman they
don't know if or when they will get another one
so they have to treat that woman like a
princess.
Love Won't Let Go
co-written by Jackie Fishell
You tend to have favorite songs you have written
and this one of them. I just love the feel and
would feel better if Neely and Tim McGraw did a
duet on it.
Grandpa Let Me Pull His Finger (during the
closing prayer)
Everybody poots (proper) farts (more commonly
used) whether they admit it or not. This is a
song about a boy and his grandfather and a
unique experience in a rural church service.
Man In The Radio
co-written Jennifer Riddle
A song about a shy guy who just couldn't tell
his woman how he felt so he let the man in the
radio or maybe Delilah.
Once In Every Lifetime
co-written by Rod Roddy
Rod is one of the
old Louisiana Rock n Roll group "Laroux" Rod is
a great musician and a busy guy. I hope to write
more with him soon.
Souvenirs
co-written with Jeff Middleton
Jeff Middleton is also singing on this demo.
This was the day of the huge snow of 2003. Jeff
had a great idea and we got to talking about
life and my daddy who has been gone about 10
years and this was what came of a great writing
session with one of the best co-writing secrets
of Nashville.
Just Another Day In Life
co-written by Jennifer Riddle (demo sang by
Jennifer Riddle)
After a session with Spady he showed me a new
tuning and I started messing with it and we just
went next door to Studio 19 and wrote it. Fun
song about life.
Headache Comin' On
co-written with Jennifer Riddle and Melinda
Hutchings.
Demo is sung by Allison Parsons who you will her
about again. When you write with 2 girls there
is never no telling what's going to come of it.
Fun up tempo female song.
Unspoken
co written with Jeff Middleton.
Demo done by Jeff Middleton
Always a great experience to write with Jeff.
